Underground Dezignz Game Plan

Your Game Plan

Someone buys your art. It gets printed and delivered. You do nothing.

You asked if the shop can connect to the printers and the shipping. It can. Here is the research, how every order runs itself, what you keep from each sale, and the price.

What you told me

  1. You paid a company to set up your shop, and it was never connected to anyone who prints and posts the orders.
  2. Their printing only worked overseas. For New Zealand they told you to find your own printer.
  3. The printing contacts you found pulled out, because the website was not sending them any work.
  4. You want it automatic: someone orders, it gets printed and shipped to their door, without you doing it by hand.
  5. Your art is mostly canvas, and the more options the better. Shirts are fine too.
  6. You have had a look at the preview and it looks good. You are finishing your updated images to replace the old ones.
  7. You have not found any other printers yet, so you asked us to do the research.

What we found

Why your old shop could never send an order

We went through undergrounddezignz.com on a phone and a computer, and read the platform it runs on.

  • Its printers are all in North America

Your old site runs on Art Storefronts, a US platform. It only sends orders automatically to its own printers, and every one of them is in the US or Canada. With no printer near you, every order lands with you to print and post yourself.

  • It is set up for America

Prices are in US dollars, the shipping page talks about the US, Hawaii and Alaska, and nothing explains delivery in New Zealand.

  • It is slow on a phone

Google's speed test gives the home page 24 out of 100 on a phone. The main picture takes about 19 seconds to show.

  • A popup covers the buy button

On a phone, the 20% off popup fills the bottom half of the screen, right where Add to Cart sits.

So nothing was wrong with your art. The old shop could never connect to a printer in New Zealand. Your new shop is built around the printer from day one.

Gelato prints your canvases here in New Zealand

We compared five print companies. Gelato is the one that prints canvas and posters in New Zealand and lets your shop send it orders automatically.

Gelato's own price and delivery tool, checked 19 October 2026, for a customer in New Zealand. What you pay Gelato for each item. No monthly fee.

    • Mugs and t-shirts are printed in New Zealand too, so more options can be added any time.
    • Overseas: a 12 x 16 in canvas to Australia costs NZ$47.58 plus NZ$14.67 delivery, 4 to 5 days.
    • Backup printer: Prodigi, with a lab in Australia, for fine-art paper and bigger framed prints.
    • The printer is one connection in your shop. If you ever want a different one, we swap that and nothing else changes.

    Also checked, and why not

    • Printful: its own page said 9 to 30 working days to New Zealand.
    • Printify: we found no printer in New Zealand.
    • Artist Services, Auckland: prints for artists, but orders are by hand, so it cannot be automatic.

    What you keep

About 60 to 70% of every sale is yours

Suggested prices from your shop preview. The customer pays delivery, so delivery costs you nothing.

    ProductYou chargeYou keep
    A3 posterNZ$49NZ$30.17
    12 x 16 in posterNZ$55NZ$33.37
    12 x 16 in canvasNZ$129NZ$89.68
    16 x 20 in canvasNZ$169NZ$118.81
    Framed print, 12 x 16 inNZ$189NZ$111.33

What you keep is after Gelato's cost (with GST) and the card fee (2.65% + 30c on a New Zealand card). You set your own prices. Your current site asks about NZ$128 for an 18 x 8 inch paper print.

Two canvas sales a month cover the monthly fee. Everything after that is yours.

    The Game Plan

    Week by week

Weeks 1 to 4Starts when you say go

    Your shop, connected and live

    1. Week 1

      Your art

      We do
      • Your updated images go in, in place of the old ones
      • We check every file against the print sizes, so each piece only offers sizes that print sharp
      • Your old site's checkout paused, so nobody pays for an order that cannot be printed
      From you
Your updated images at full size, and which pieces you want to lead with
    2. Week 2

      Your accounts

      We do
      • Your own Stripe connected, so every sale goes straight to your bank
      • A Gelato account in your name, connected to the shop
      • Order emails set up to come from your own email address
      From you
About 10 minutes for Stripe and Gelato. We walk you through both on the phone
    3. Week 3

      Test orders

      We do
      • Test orders run start to finish: paid, sent to the printer, tracked, customer emailed
      • One real canvas printed and delivered to your door, so you see the quality before any customer does
      From you
Tell us what you think of the canvas. Gelato charges its cost for it, about NZ$53 with delivery
    4. Week 4

      Live

      We do
      • Your shop goes live on undergrounddezignz.com
      • Links to your old product pages point to the new ones
      • Connected to Google, so your shop can be found
      From you
Cancel your Art Storefronts subscription once you are happy
    After launchOnce it is live

    Grow the range

    1. Week 5

      More of your art

      We do
      • The rest of your catalogue added in batches, best pieces first
      • Mugs, t-shirts or framed prints added once canvases are selling
      From you
New pieces whenever you make them
    2. Week 6

      First look at the orders

      We do
      • What sold, what people looked at, and what to add next
      From you
Share the shop on your Facebook and Instagram

    Your questions

Does it connect to the printers and the shipping?

Yes. Every paid order goes to the printer by itself, gets printed and shipped, and the tracking comes back to your customer. That is the whole point of this build.

Do I have to pack or post anything?

No. You never touch an order. You see them all in one place, and you only hear from us if something needs you.

Can I sell shirts and mugs too?

Yes. Gelato prints mugs and t-shirts in New Zealand. We would start with canvas and posters, then add more once those are selling.

    Whose money is it?

Yours. Every sale goes into your own Stripe account and your bank, not ours. Gelato only charges you for an order your customer has already paid for.

What happens to my old website?

It stays up until the new shop is live on your domain. Then you cancel it. Your domain stays yours.

    Worth checking

Four things to sort before the shop goes live

    • Pieces with film and comic characters

18 of your old pieces are named after characters like Batman, Spider-Man and Godzilla. Print companies refuse artwork with other people's characters, and selling it could get you in legal trouble. Those stay off the new shop.

    • Big prints need big files

Your old shop only offered small sizes, because the files uploaded were small. Bigger canvases need your original full-size files. Send those with your updated images and we check each one.

    • The Native American collection

We would call it "Native American-inspired", so nobody reads it as a claim about who made the art. The shop ships to the US, where the law is strict about that.

    • Returns

Your old site says all sales are final. In New Zealand, a faulty or damaged print must be put right whatever the policy says, so the new shop has a proper returns page, and the printer replaces damaged prints.

    The price

    Everything Connected: setup

    Paid once.

    • No long contract, and you can take your shop with you any time.

    When you are ready

    Two add-ons worth having

Neither is needed on day one. Your choice, when you want them.

    • After launch

      Get found on Google

      $599, once

Right now a search for Underground Dezignz finds nothing about you. We set up your Google profile and Search Console, and make sure Google lists your shop under one name.

    • Any time

      A logo and a look

      $249, once

Three different names are in use right now: Underground South, Underground Dezignz and Underground Dezigns. We settle on one, with a logo to match, across the shop, Stripe and your socials.

Add one of these within 30 days of your shop going live and it is half price.

If you want to go ahead, we can definitely do that for you

Send your updated images when they are ready and we start. Any questions, ring me or reply to the email.
